DT body design
The DT HI-Load body is not only flexible in construction, but the design allows it to be retro-fitted to existing fleets as well as new truck models.
Many operations benefiting from this light weight and durable body are changing out their square trays and banking the benefits.
With a range of body sizes, truck payload capacities are realised in hauling light weight density materials such as coal, without adding tailgates or increasing the structural empty body mass.
This means greater productivity, safer hauling and lowered operating costs.
Structural beams
The DT-HI Load is lightweight, flexible and strong.
Extensive research and development in conjunction with intensive field trials has delivered a body that will stand up to the rigours of a busy mine without adding unnecessary dead weight.
The beam length has been engineered to support the body, withstand impact loading, and allow the flexibility to twist, following the truck chassis when travelling.
A patented joint has been developed to attach the beams to the body floor plate. The scalloped edge of the beam eliminates the more traditional long welded joint which experiences torsion stress during high impact loading, travelling on rough surfaces or when unladen.
Weld joints on the fabricated beam have been specially developed with a profile to eliminate high stress yet provide required yield strength and eliminate fatigue.
